Aimee: I was nervous yet strangely excited for the first day of this challenge. My weakness to caffeine will definitely be an advantage in this challenge (take that Katya). The first day, I woke up after getting eight hours of sleep, and set about my day. During the morning, I was on a high. However, as soon as I walked into my afternoon classes, the tiredness hit. While I would normally make a pit-stop for tea, I struggled through that day’s classes before going home. It felt like I was a zombie, lurching towards my bed, where I then took a nap for two hours.
Our notes:
Katya: As I was driving to school, it felt so wrong to not have a Dunkin’ coffee or Starbucks Strawberry Acai Refresher nestled in my cup holder. Honestly, the urge to turn around and just quit this bet was incredibly tempting, however I reminded myself that Aimee was also doing this bet, and she’d be suffering as badly as I was. I needed a hard cup of coffee to survive my day. In the morning, I didn’t feel the caffeine withdrawal… and then things took a turn for the worse. Headaches, moodiness and exhaustion set in. By the evening, I wanted to rip everyone’s head off and then promptly go to sleep. Let’s just say, day one was unforgettable.
